2021

Recognised as an independent multidisciplinary body

In 2021 the association was recognised as a formal, independent, multidisciplinary organisation. Work with neurology, paediatric neurology, psychiatry, physiatry, and pain medicine is part of its foundation.

Headache does not sit inside one specialty. A child with migraine, a patient with psychiatric comorbidity, and facial pain after surgery follow different paths, which is why the association has stayed multidisciplinary.

The founder and president, Dr Mansoureh Togha, put the direction this way in the association’s introduction: educating the people who diagnose and treat headache is a vital part of the mission.
